[edit]How is Christian loves Mylena a disruptive user name? T'Shael, Lord of the Vulcans 02:44, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Noted on UAA. Again, in hindsight I'm not sure if I'm correct. Abce2|AccessDenied 02:47, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- In response to your reply on UAA, perhaps it actually is Christian and he does, in fact, love Mylena? When I was around 14 or 15 I can recall having a screen name declaring my love for someone. Just something to think about. T'Shael, Lord of the Vulcans 02:51, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, sorry. It's 10:00 PM, and I didn't get much sleep, and I'm not thinking strait. I'm going to bed now. Abce2|AccessDenied 03:01, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

UAA again
[edit]Not too long ago I noted on making reports of usernames that were not blatant violations of username policy. I wish to re-emphasise the advice myself and other admins have given, in that if there's no contributions (and the name is not blatant), then it's not an immediate issue and thus it shouldn't be at UAA. We must WP:AGF and wedo not speculate on the intentions of a user when considering a block. Nja247 08:04, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- Also, this name could have easily been someone's name. As it's not a blatantly obvious violation, and as there were no contributions to override WP:AGF, it did not belong at UAA.Nja247 08:13, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Again, I'm sorry. I didn't get much sleep and it was 10:00. I've got to go, we reply better later. Abce2|AccessDenied 13:15, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

- Ah, that must User:HellinaBucket, I was trying to sort out his archiving issues. I see the Wiki_______ but I think it's supposed to be like that. It seems to me that _______ represents the group of letters added after the word Wiki, i.e. Love, which follows Wiki to form WikiLove; Hate, which follows Wiki to make WikiHate; Crime, which follows Wiki to make WikiCrime; and so on. Why not drop a suggestion on User:Sebwite talk page (he has done most of the work on the template). Cheers, --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 21:50, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

The first above is the sig you're using; note the 3-digit values in the color attributes. 3-digit color values are valid in CSS but are invalid inHTML and XHTML. At a minimum you should use the tweaked version I give second above. The font-element is deprecated, too, and really should not be used anywhere on the planet ;) It would be far better if you cut all the silliness, but that's not a code or policy issue. Regarding a reversion that you made
[edit]Abce2, you reverted an edit on the centrifugal force page by an anonymous editor with an IP number beginning with 72 and you claimed that their actions had been identified as vandalism. In actual fact, that editor was restoring edits which I had originally made and which editor FyzixFighter had deleted. Take a closer look at the details. My edit involved trimming some excesses in the introduction which I considered to be unnecessary and merely confusing the issue. FyzixFighter was trying to tell us that there are three kinds of centrifugal force. Another of my edits involved expanding a comparative table to cater for the third kind. And my most important edit was actually written by Brews ohare. It was a short concise section illustrating centrifugal force in the context of planetary orbits.
The question that you should really have been asking is why FyzixFighter chose to delete my edits in the first place. An anonymous restored them and you came along and reverted again on the grounds that the actions of the anonymous were identified as vandalism. I don't know how you arrived at that conclusion. That anonymous occasionally gets involved in the centrifugal force debate. On this occasion, he or she was assisting my case. David Tombe (talk) 00:04, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Sockpuppetry
[edit]Ruh Roh Rorge!!!!! The Secret Police have accused me of breaking Public Directive 10-289, plus its subsections related to the "Equalization of Wikipedia Opportunity" act, and the "Anti-Anti-Questioning-What-You're-Told" act... [edit]Hi Abce2, if you would like me to adopt you, create an adoption page at User:Abce2/Adoption, on the other hand, if you want someone else to adopt you, go back to the adoption page. SpinningSpark 19:49, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
- The idea was just to let me know you were interested by creating the page. Write anything on it, once it exists we can start a program, but you might want to start by saying what kind of stuff you want to write on Wikipedia. SpinningSpark 22:00, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

WP:NODRAMA reminder
[edit]Thanks for signing up for the Great Wikipedia Dramaout. Wikipedia stands to benefit from the improvements in the article space as a result of this campaign. This is a double reminder. First, the campaign begins on July 18, 2009 at 00:00 (UTC). Second, please remember to log any articles you have worked on during the campaign at Wikipedia:The Great Wikipedia Dramaout/Log. Thanks again for your participation! --Jayron32.talk.say no to drama 21:19, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
Page numbers in references
[edit]In answer to your question, most people format references as shown in WP:Cite#Footnote system. The important thing is to get the references into the article. The formatting can always be tweaked later if necessary. SpinningSpark 19:26, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Good question
[edit]BF has been mercifully quiet as of late, but if he does in fact target any of the Ice Age movie articles, he'll be easy enough to spot. I'm on a wikibreak, so I might not catch him right away. If you suspect him, leave word on the WP:ANI page. You can reprt him to the vandalism-in-progress page as well. With any luck, our "deer" little BF has finally gotten the message and we are unlikely to see him again. If we do, it'll be on a limited basis since all of his pet articles are protected. Thanks for letting me know. I'll try and keep an eye on things as well. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 21:07, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Reply
[edit]I wasn't going to answer you until the Dramaout is over, but because you believe it would be helpful if I answered the question, and since I see no reason why an answer should cause any drama, an editor in good standing whose editing is disrupted by unrelated blocks or firewalls may be granted IP-block exemption, which allows editing on an otherwise-blocked IP address. The right is given exceptionally only for good reasons, and may be removed if concerns arise or when it is no longer needed. It is a long and complicated story how I got it, but does that answer your question?--The LegendarySky Attacker 09:27, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for making WP:NODRAMA a success!
[edit]Thank you again for your support of the Great Wikipedia Dramaout. Preliminary statistics indicate that 129 new articles were created, 203 other articles were improved, and 183 images were uploaded. Additionally, 41 articles were nominated for DYK, of which at least 2 have already been promoted. There are currently also 8 articles up for GA status and 3 up for FA/FL status. Though the campaign is technically over, please continue to update the log page at WP:NODRAMA/L with any articles which you worked during the campaign, and also to note any that receive commendation, such as DYK, GA or FA status. You may find the following links helpful in nominating your work:
- T:TDYK for Did You Know nominations
- WP:GAC for Good Article nominations
- WP:FAC for Featured Article nominations
- WP:FLC for Featured List nominations
- WP:FPC for Featured Picture nominations

New section
[edit]I haven't replaced anything, I just wrote a comment on the talk page. And I'm quite calm. I think this matter was handled poorly, and I'm expressing that fact. But I appreciate your input. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fight the bias (talk • contribs) 04:32, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
I don't know what you're talking about - on the article page, or the discussion? I haven't touched the article page since we got into the argument, and I'm sure during the course of the edit fighting (which I was the only person to attempt to stop) some things got overwritten. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fight the bias (talk • contribs) 04:36, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
But it's clear that he won't give a real answer. Do you not find it suspicious that the entire discussion page for the article appears to be people arguing with Xenophrenic over the 'proper' content? One can infer his reasons from the tone of his replies. Why would one person be allowed so much authority over a Wikipedia article, and what (innocent) reason would he/she have for wanting that control? —Precedingunsigned comment added by Fight the bias (talk •contribs) 04:38, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Anti-Americanism
[edit]I don't think you looked closely at what you reverted to: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Anti-Americanism&diff=304156465&oldid=304141626
I didn't revert Blippy. I saved his reversion of my edits of yesterday. I reverted to a version that existed before WebHamster and SlaterSteven started edit warring. The only difference was some recently added material by a random editor that was never discussed on the Talk page. Please review the edit history, and undo your change. Again, I didn't revert to my recent edits. Noloop (talk) 18:23, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm...the edit seems to have references, fits the defintion of Anti-Americanism, what's wrong with it?Abce2|Aww nuts!Wribbit!(Sign here) 18:28, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
What's wrong with it, without even looking closely, is that it calls things anti-American. Calling things anti-American is a political interpretation, therefore not something Wikipedia should do. In any case, the editor has never explained or defended the edits on the Talk page, and in fact never edited the article before or since, as far as I can tell. That version isn't my preferred version of the main paragraph we've been disputing. I reverted to it so we could start working from a minimally disputed version, not "my" version. Please undo your revert: I was trying to return to minimally disputed version. Noloop (talk) 18:44, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
A heads up Abce2. It might pay to read Noloop's new comment on Talk:Anti-Americanism#Stop--The LegendarySky Attacker 01:26, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
